If you’re searching for stop-smoking help in Birmingham, here’s the good news up front: this city takes quitting seriously, and if you smoke and you live here, work here or have a Birmingham GP, there is genuinely free, expert support waiting for you. This guide pulls it all into one place.

What you’re entitled to

Where to find us in Ladywood

Quit Smoking Clinic Ladywood runs in partnership with Birmingham City Council from 212 St Vincent Street West, Ladywood, B16 8RP — a short walk from Birmingham city centre, near Edgbaston and Five Ways. We’re open Monday and Thursday mornings (9:30am–1:30pm) and Wednesday afternoons (1:00pm–5:00pm), and you can reach us any time on 07874 911 292.

Not near Ladywood?

Support reaches across the city — community outreach sessions run in neighbourhoods including Erdington, and telephone and online support mean you can do the entire programme without travelling at all. Your GP or pharmacist can also point you to services closer to home; what matters is that you connect with someone, because support triples your chances.

“You don’t need to be sure you can do it. You don’t even need to have picked a quit date. You just need to have a first conversation.”

Who counts as ‘Birmingham’?

The service is for people who currently smoke and live in Birmingham, work in Birmingham, or are registered with a Birmingham GP. If that’s you, you qualify — whatever you smoke, however long you’ve smoked, and however many times you’ve tried before. (Already smoke-free and only vaping? The funded programme can’t enrol you just for vaping — but our guide to coming off your vape is free to everyone.)

Your first step this week

Call 07874 911 292, drop in during opening hours, or send the contact form and we’ll ring you back. The first conversation is free, friendly and pressure-free — no judgement, no lecture, just a plan that starts where you are.

Service free for those who don’t pay for NHS prescriptions. One single prescription charge for the full 12 weeks if you do pay for prescriptions.
